Electornic Arts is one of the biggest companies currently active in the video game industry, owning a wide variety of labels and development studios around the world, all hard at work developing new and interesting properties while continuing to improve old franchises.

But, even though the company has worked very hard to bring all of its titles to all consoles and be successful on all of them, the very popular Wii has been out of the large corporation's grasp for quite some time.

Now, the President of EA's Sports label, Peter Moore, has talked once more about the Nitnendo Wii and how his company needs to take a bigger advantage of its unique capabilities and bring more titles for its big user base, while using new peripherals like the Wii MotionPlus, which will arrive this summer.

“I think we need to continue to work on the Wii,” Moore reveals. “When I look at the attach rate on the Wii of our software to where I think we should be, we're under-performing still, we need to do much better. MotionPlus gives us a great opportunity really now to take advantage of the Wii,” Moore adds, while referring to Tiger Woods 10 and Grand Slam Tennis. “Those two titles couldn't come at a better time for us, nor for Nintendo quite frankly.”

But, while he shares that the Wii is still elusive for EA, Moore generalizes it for the whole industry, saying that, “Wii continues to bring new people into our business, and boy are we thankful for that. And we as an industry need to continue to take advantage of that and maybe make better games for the Wii, and make sure we're delivering entertainment that that consumer wants at that time.”

The Wii has certainly introduced a lot of new users to gaming, and this is undoubtedly something quite good for the whole industry as a whole. Hopefully, these new players will be introduced with high-quality products by companies such as EA in the future.
