The team at publisher Electronic Arts watching over the fortunes of Battlefield 4 says that the first-person shooter from DICE has been very successful for the company despite the fact that it has been affected by some serious issues when it launched.

Richard Hilleman, the chief creative officer of the company, is telling Rock, Paper, Shotgun that, "I think there was a lot of noise about the game, but some of that is a function of your surface area. The more customers you have, the more noise becomes available. We did things wrong. We know that. We’re gonna fix those things."

The executive also says that, in the future, EA will pay more attention to the desires of its customers and will make sure that all titles that are launched manage to set a new standard of quality.

Hilleman also explains that most Battlefield fans were not disappointed by the quality of the recent release, but they would have appreciated less bugs on launch.

He also explains that the beta testing process did not manage to catch many problems that the shooter had because of the variety of platforms on which it arrived.

The CCO adds, "there were dynamics that were different this time. There were organizational differences. Some of those have been fixed already. Many of those conditions will not be the same next time. Some of those fixes aren’t going to solve the problem next time, though."

DICE has been launching updates for Battlefield 4 almost every week, while also keeping fans up to date about the list of bugs that it plans to solve in the coming period.

It has also requested help from the community for the balancing process.

The studio has also suspended development on any future DLC, as it focuses on making sure that all Battlefield 4 bugs are eliminated.
