Apart from its E3 2013 show floor presence, AMD also held an event at a venue on LA Way, bringing out Matt Skynner, a vice president and general manager, in order to offer information on how the company plans to tackle the future of gaming.

The four priorities that AMD is working on are: Console, Content, Cloud and Client.

Skynner says his company wants to become the core of gaming going forward, offering solutions for all markets that gamers are present in.

He mentioned that the Wii U from Nintendo, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony were all powered by AMD-made custom processors, which means that all the big titles of the next generation of consoles are linked to the company.

At the same time, new desktop processors and new graphics solutions, the Radeon HD 7990 and the FX 9590, are being introduced on the PC in order to power the big video game releases of the fall season.

AMD says that their performance exceeds that of Intel-based solutions.

Skynner says that both the Thief reboot from Square Enix and Battlefield 4 from DICE, including its new Commander Mode, are exclusively optimized for AMD hardware.

It seems that the company also has long-term plans to continue its Never Settle promotion, offering gamers who buy Radeon graphics cards free access to video games that are worth more than 150 dollars (110 Euro).

For AMD, the cloud is also important as it moves forward to make mobile gaming more powerful, both via its system on a chip solutions, based on Kabini and Temash, and by offering cloud solutions that can stream the most recent video game releases.

The company sees a unified future where powerful hardware on a variety of devices will allow players to enjoy their favorite titles wherever they are.
