Can this new first person shooter revive the long running series?

Medal of Honor was rebooted without the resounding success that publisher Electronic Arts was expecting, but the publisher is still interested in the series and developer Danger Close has now lifted the lid from the multiplayer mode of the Warfighter sequel.

The core innovation of the mode is the Fire Team, a link between two players who are then connected on the battlefield, able to revenge one another and use the surviving member of the team as a mobile respawn point.

The two buddies can also mix the special abilities of their classes to become even more lethal on the battlefield.

The existence of the Fire Teams basically creates a number of smaller multiplayer competitions inside the larger match, as gamers move to exact revenge and gain better positions in addition to working towards the larger team objective.

The classes that Danger Close has shown for Medal of Honor: Warfighter are another strong point, offering variety both when it comes to the weapons they use and to the roles they can play on the battlefield.

Without bragging in any way, me and my Fire Team buddy managed to be the best when it comes to kills during our multiplayer session of Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

Warfighter uses the Frostbite 2 engine, which makes it look very good, but the game could use more of the destruction technology included in the technology that DICE developed originally for Battlefield 3.

The developers at Danger Close say that they will try to position Warfighter as a faster and closer quarter-oriented alternative to the Battlefield 3 experience, which will continue to draw in the more hardcore crowd.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter is the game that will do battle with Call of Duty: Black Ops II for the crown of leading first-person shooter during the fall of this year.
