Apparently, the e-book reading devices aren't as popular as some thought

With all the sales of Amazon's Kindle, B&N's Nook and Sony's e-readers, among others, people might be tempted to think that paperback and hardcover books are fading away.

That's not actually happening though, according to a survey conducted by Rasmussen Reports.

That, or the move from physical books to virtual ones is happening much more slowly than implied by the media.

Long story short, 75% of Americans prefer normal books over e-readers.

For those interested in specifics, 75% of American adults prefer normal books, 15% prefer electronic devices, and 10% are still undecided.

Keep in mind, though, that the survey only included 1,000 adults, and was conducted over a period of just 2 days (July 11-12, 2013), so it might not be representative of the truth.

Then again, one survey is better than no survey and, if nothing else, should raise the spirits of publishing houses and bookstores.
