14 DAY TRIAL // Bandai Namco has announced the impending release of Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn, exclusively for the PlayStation 3 console.
Developed by Tecmo Koei, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn is a hack and slash game based on the popular anime series Gundam, featuring gameplay similar to that of the famous Japanese franchise that lends its name to it.
The main difference between the two games lies in the core content, as instead of being thrown into medieval Japan in a time of turmoil and striving to conquer and unite all the prefectures, players will now embody giant mechas known as Mobile Suits.
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn is set in an era known as "Universal Century," and allows gamers to engage in battles across land, air, sea and space with Mobile Suits and pilots derived from the Gundam series' over 30 years of history, offering the largest roster ever made available in a video game, numbering over 100 mechas.
The game will have players tackle numerous missions spanning the entire Gundam series (including Mobile Suit Gundam SEED) in Official Mode, after which they will be able to select Mobile Suit pilots to operate any Mobile Suit they have unlocked for crossover missions in Ultimate Mode.
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn will also let players pilot the massive Mobile Armor units for the first time, allowing access to the colossal units' unique and devastating arsenal of weapons and abilities.
Additionally, gamers will be able to enjoy the game's intense action in either split-screen local or online multiplayer cooperative mode, allowing them to face the challenging campaign missions together with their friends.
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn is currently scheduled to release sometime during the summer of 2014, as a digital download on the PlayStation Network, for the PlayStation 3 in North America and in both digital and physical editions in Europe.
The game was originally released in Japan for both the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita in December 2013 , but there is no word from Bandai Namco regarding a western Vita launch of the enhanced and compiled version of the mecha fighting game yet.
