14 DAY TRIAL // Omega Force's upcoming Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends will also bring five additional warriors to the already extensive roster available to players.
Dynasty Warriors 8 was originally launched on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last year, with the upcoming Xtreme Legends expansion being delivered by publisher Koei as a standalone release on the PlayStation 3.
The game is coming to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita platforms packed together with the original Dynasty Warriors 8, marking the first time the latest installment in the popular history-based hack and slash is available on the platforms.
Xtreme Legends adds new episodes to the original's storyline, revolving around the legend of the three kingdoms, also adding some scenarios that explore a speculative historical track, an expanded Ambition Mode, a Challenge Mode and an improved Free Mode, while also introducing the "Ultimate" difficulty level.
Information on the five new characters has been made public by Gematsu, revealing them to be some previous officers from different Dynasty Warriors titles.
Chen Gong is an ambitious and humorous strategist for Lu Bu, set on a ruthless path to reaching the top. Originally serving under Cao Cao, he was quick to change sides when he realized he could not fulfill his goals there.
Fa Zheng is another ambitious strategist, a prominent figure in Liu Bei's plans to take over the land of Shu. He has used his brilliant tactics to pacify the Yi province and participated in the invasion of Hanzhong.
Lu Lingqi is the daughter of Lu Bu, a brave and mighty warrior princess who shares her father's fighting ability and courage, bravely standing in the front line of any engagement.
Yu Jin is a general with a reputation for invincibility, under the command of Cao Cao. His devotion to military discipline is legendary, and he is feared by friends and foes alike, on account on his unyielding personality.
Zhu Ran is a young warrior who distinguished himself in the suppression of a group of bandits during the battle of Ruxukou, finding fame within the Wu ranks.
Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition will be released on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, launching in North America on March 25 and on April 4 in Europe.
Introductory trailers for each of the characters have been provided, showing their faces and character models, as well as their unique arsenal of moves, some of them also featuring some of the alternate skins for existing cast members.
