Microsoft has updated the resources available to developers and IT professionals for Dynamics NAV 2009 in order to keep up the pace with the evolution of the solution. In this regard, the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Developer and IT Pro Help has been kicked up a notch and adapted to the first Service Pack release for the product. With the new documentation, developers and IT pros will be able to develop, deploy and perform management not only for the plain vanilla flavor of Dynamics NAV 2009, but also for the SP1 release. With the update introduced at the start of July 2009, the Redmond company has expanded the help content in order to cover the new functionality in Dynamics 2009 SP1.

“Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Developer and IT Pro Help has been updated to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1 and is now available on MSDN and the Microsoft Download Center. In addition to new content for SP1, this release expands on existing content and addresses some important support call issues, such as Outlook integration,” revealed a NAV UE Platform writer.

Earlier this year Microsoft made available for download the first Community Technology Preview of Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1. With Service Pack 1 Microsoft underlined the fact that it was looking to build on top of what it was already delivering with the RTM of Dynamics NAV 2009. The focus of the service pack is on boosting productivity, and ultimately profit.

“Some of the highlights of the updated help include: Outlook Integration and Synchronization,” the NAV UE Platform writer added. “Extending the RoleTailored client using control add-ins (as part of client extensibility, there are several topics that explain how to develop control add-ins and use them on RoleTailored client pages; includes a class library); Security in the RoleTailored Environment; Installation Walkthroughs; Multiple Time Zones; Report-to-report links; Control and menu IDs on transformed pages; About This Page and About This Report; Page Designer.”
