The new update is apparently causing problems

A brand new update has just been released for Dying Light by developer Techland, in the form of patch 1.5, which brings not just the long-awaited hard mode and a few other improvements, but also, according to some PC users, framerate problems.

Dying Light launched back in January and the game made a pretty solid impression on fans through its big open world, its intense zombie killing mechanics, and the pretty fluid parkour movement system that allowed for a lot of freedom while exploring its environments.

Unfortunately, it also had quite a few problems, so Techland worked hard to ensure that they were eliminated via patches.

Update 1.5 for Dying Light is now live

The latest update is now available for download across most platforms, such as PC and Xbox One worldwide, and PS4 in North America. It will debut on the PS4 in Europe and other territories on March 14.

As you can see in the video below, it adds the long-awaited hard mode, not to mention new outfits and gear, a gold weapon rarity level, and a lot of actual guns and objects that can be used to dismember the undead.

Besides these new elements, the update also brings forth balance tweaks for weapons, loot chests, quests, and other such things.

Framerate issues are reported by users

While the changelog, available below via Steam, mentions that the patch improves the overall game performance, while making visual enhancements, PC users are reporting framerate issues after installing the new update, so it's unclear just exactly how the update affects the game on that platform.

As of right now, Techland isn't commenting on the framerate problems reported by users after installing the new update, so expect to hear more, or see a second, smaller patch to solve the issues, in the following days.

Until then, check out the video highlighting the new hard mode, and the changelog for the Dying Light update 1.5, below.
