Fans shouldn’t worry though because “Superman is on the mend”

It looks like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is out of the “Pain & Gain” promo campaign for good. After missing the Los Angeles premiere the other night, the wrestler turned actor confirms that he’s had emergency surgery.

His Twitter feed provides all the details on his condition fans might want to know, including a couple they might not – like this Sunday’s tweet about how the doctor had to “push my intestines back thru the tear in my abdomen. Kinda romantic.”

Either way, Johnson is doing fine after surgery and, as the photo attached to this article can also confirm, he’s in great spirits as well.

No hernia tears can bring Superman down, that much’s for sure.

“Surgery a success! Dr repaired 3 hernial tears (fun pain). Superman is on the mend.. #WeFallWeRise,” Dwayne writes. He’s smiling brightly in the pic, wearing a Superman shirt and flexing his muscles.

His Twitter also reveals that he sustained the injury after the Wrestlemania match with John Cena earlier this month, which he lost.

“In the middle of last night's Wrestlemania match I tore my abdomen & abductor muscles off the bone. Just part of the job,” he wrote on April 8.

“But as we know... It's all about #JustBringIt. WWE Universe, THANK YOU for all the love & well wishes. Means everything to me. #LeaveItAllInTheRing,” he added.

Dwayne can be seen next in “Pain & Gain,” which also stars Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Mackie, and is directed by Michael Bay.

The film opens wide this Friday but, as noted above, it’s premiered in LA.

Speaking to reporters on the red carpet about how one of his leading men was missing for the big event, Bay cracked a joke – and it’s best enjoyed if you remember that the film is about three bodybuilders who turn to a life of crime for their shot at the American dream.

“Dwayne's hurt tonight. He was pushing it too hard. [He] needs to grow up and stop wrestling 300-pound [136 kg] men,” he said.
