Smooth move...

John Dvorak?s articles have always had something strange about them. From calling the iPod+Nike Sport Kit ?nutty? because he couldn?t see why anyone would use one, to the Apple should change its name to avoid further litigation with Apple corps and Apple should ditch OS X for Windows articles, the ideas put forth have always been not only far fetched but often fantastic and heavily biased.

Turns out there is a very good reason for that, as Dave Winer found out and posted on his Scripting News blog. "I was talking with [John] Dvorak at the Vloggercon party this evening, and he started telling a story about how he deliberately pisses Mac users off to get flow for his stories, and I said, hold a minute, I want to record this, and shit if he didn't stop and repeat it for me and my video camera."

While Dvorak has been trolling for hits for a long time now, and many were already well aware of his tactic, this video does away with what little was left of his credibility.

Why exactly he chose to share his strategy to getting big hits, and on video nonetheless is unclear? perhaps he needs more clicks and is running out of article ideas.
