Dust-Off just released a specialized kind of backpack that is aimed at gamers that are moving their gear from one LAN party to another and need a safe place to store their trusted keyboards and mice. The new "Keyboard Quiver" is an original idea and it offers enough internal space to allow the deposit of a keyboard, mouse, cell phone, headphones and so on, while the all around padding ensures that the components inside will not get a rough ride.

According to the manufacturing company's press release concerning the "Keyboard Quiver", the backpack provides "an added level of protection for the essential tools of the gaming trade, including a keyboard, mouse, headphones, cables, power cords and even MP3 players, and keeps the equipment safe and game-ready". The whole assembly is 21 inch long and 12 inch wide and it is manufactured from a heavy duty cotton canvas and it provides an over the shoulder strap that is padded for comfortable carrying. The strap also has a pouch big enough to hold a cell phone or a PDA.

The "Keyboard Quiver" features two separated zones, an external one with three compartments closed with zippers and an internal zone also closed with a zipper that is practically the biggest storage area of the whole setup. Inside that compartment there are a variety of padded straps and mesh pockets for securing cables, CDs and other accessories together with even a bulky keyboard. "The Quiver is the first bag specifically designed to meet the needs of competitive gamers," said Ken Newman, Director of Marketing for Falcon Safety Products, manufacturer of the Dust-Off brand.

"Through our partnership with the World Cyber Games, we had an opportunity to work closely with professional gamers on the development of a product that would meet what we saw as an urgent need for the protection of sensitive and expensive gaming gear. Throughout the design process of the Quiver, we worked side-by-side with Dust Off sponsored Team X30 and incorporated many of their suggestions into the Quiver's final design. Essentially, the Quiver is designed by gamers for gamers."

The specialized keyboard backpack represents the latest product of the Dust-Off company aimed at the gamers community and it will become generally available from October 2007, coming with a price tag of almost $70.
