Developer CCP are launching three series of events in their shooter-based MMO Dust 514, designed to celebrate Christmas and convince fans of the game to spend their free time playing and leveling up their main characters.

Developer Invasions are scheduled to take place on December 18 and 20 and will see members of the studio enter the MMO under clearly defined identities in order to fight with players and evaluate their expertise.

Teams of 4 to 6 developers will be involved in Other Contract matches and all those who are involved will be able to get double the normal rewards in terms of money and experience.

Starting on December 18 and lasting a week is another event called Weapons Trials: Rifle Round Up, which is described as, “Gear up with a Standard level of either the Combat Rifle or Rail Rifle in matches during this event. Both weapons are all-new in the Uprising 1.7 release!”

For every 10 kills they manage to achieve, gamers will get a Prototype version of the weapon they use.

The 12 Days of DUST will launch on December 25 of this year and will last until January 5 of 2014, designed to allow players to get access to epic in-game items at a faster rate.

Logging in and winning one match is enough to guarantee a present from CCP and Dust 514 fans will be able to also get access to more items if they play more.

The development team is also cutting the price of the Tactical Edition of Dust 514 starting today in order to give more gamers a chance to enter the MMO with a number of tactical toys and weapons that they can use straight away.

At some point during 2014 the team has also said that it wants to launch its shooter multiplayer experience on the PlayStation 4 from Sony.
