Kalypso Media announces the sequel to the Dungeon Keeper-inspired strategy title from 2011, Dungeons, scheduled to come out sometime during 2015.

Realmforge Studios is currently working on the title, aiming to take inspiration from the best titles in the dungeon management genre, as well as to blend in its trademark dark humor in order to deliver the ultimate dungeon-running experience that fans of the genre have been waiting for.

Thus, Kalypso Media has released a brand new CGI teaser trailer, showing some of the dungeon management mainstays, borrowing World of Warcraft's melted-candle-on-top-of-head routine and Dungeon Keeper's patented imp-slapping.

The upcoming title is looking to follow the Dungeon Lord as he fulfills his quest for vengeance, recruiting fearsome new monsters from all corners of the underworld to do his evil bidding.

This time around though, the Dungeon Lord is not content with dominating the underground, and is seeking to extend his dominion over into the realm of the puny humans, in a bid to conquer the world above.

Players will be challenged to once again assume control of the mighty Dungeon Lord, crafting an intricate network of terrifying dungeons, recruiting a massive army of horrific creatures, and take command of two new factions.

Once again, those meddling heroes will prove to be your undoing, and you will have to deal with their pesky antics before going above ground to wage war on their human cities, using the "Hand of Terror" to take direct control of your minions, issue commands and slap them silly if they break the lines.

The story mode offers an extensive campaign, peppered with numerous references to established fantasy books, movies and TV shows, as well as with a healthy dose of dark humor.

Gamers looking to test their mettle will find that Dungeons 2 is the dungeon management simulator they're looking for, offering them two unique gameplay modes, a management simulation in the underground, and a tactical, real-time strategy in the overworld, where they must leave the beautiful human cities in ruins.

The game will even offer aspiring Dungeon Lords the chance to assert their dominance in four different multiplayer game modes, supporting up to four players at the same time.

Dungeons 2 is currently scheduled for release sometime in 2015, coming to Windows PC, Mac and Linux, via both digital distribution and boxed retail.
