Chinese company Gionee launched the Elife E7 high-end smartphone last week, featuring a stunning 5.5-inch display and one of the best 16-megapixel cameras included with an Android device.

Gionee is well known in emerging markets for its affordable but solid smartphones and the yet unannounced Pioneer P3 might be another example of the company’s marketing policy.

Fonearena reports that the Pioneer P3 is likely to be officially introduced very soon, as the phone has just appeared on a Vietnamese blog site along with most of its specs.

When it comes to hardware configuration, the smartphone can’t be compared with the company’s latest Elife E7. But that’s not the point, as Pioneer P3 is aimed at customers looking for a budget-friendly Android alternative.

The good news is that Gionee Pioneer P3 will ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and packs a more than decent 1.3 GHz quad-core processor probably provided by MediaTek.

On the back, the Pioneer P3 is said to sport a 5-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash, autofocus and video recording, while in the front, there’s a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

Aside from the quad-core CPU, the device is equipped with only 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Connectivity-wise, Gionee Pioneer P3 offers the usual stuff, meaning that users will be able to take advantage of 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 support, as well as GPS with A-GPS.

As expected, the smartphone also offers dual-SIM support (GSM / GSM) with Dual Standby. It is also worth mentioning that it is powered by an 1700 mAh Li-Ion battery that has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

Gionee Pioneer P3 is expected to arrive in both Black and White color options for a price that will be disclosed closer to launch.
