Android fans in Australia looking for good deals on smartphones will be happy to know that German supermaket chain Aldi plans to launch another mid-range handset later this week.

Dubbed Bauhn Sphere B5, the smartphone will be available for purchase in Australia beginning this weekend. According to Aldi's catalog with specials for the next seven-day period beginning June 28, Bauhn Sphere B5 should go on sale for $249 (€175) outright.

This means that the next Bauhn smartphone to arrive in Australia will be $100 (€70) more expensive than the previous model released by Aldi in January.

Obviously, potential customers should expect much better specs in comparison with the older Bauhn smartphone. The bad news is that the Sphere B5 will ship with the same Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system that powers its predecessor as well.

On the positive side, the Bauhn Sphere B5 is equipped with a more powerful processor, better camera and display, as well as a higher amount of storage.

Another selling point of the smartphone, as the name suggests it, is the fact that it offers dual-SIM capability with dual standby support.

On a side note, AusDroid reports that Aldi also offers a universal smartphone case for $12.99 (€9) around the same time the Bauhn Sphere B5 goes on sale, so customers may get these together.

Keep in mind that Bauhn Sphere B5 is sold with a 60 Day Money Back Guarantee and 1 Year Warranty, so take this into consideration before making your investment.

Here is the phone's description from Bauhn's official website: “Stay connected with this stylish all-in-one smartphone with dual SIM standby. Whether you want to access the internet on the go, capture photos or listen to your favourite music, the Bauhn Dual SIM Smartphone is easy to carry and has all the features you need in the one product.”

Moving on to the specs, Bauhn Sphere B5 sports a decent 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display (no info on resolution) and packs 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

On the inside, the mid-range smartphone is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and an 1750 mAh removable battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

It's also worth mentioning that Bauhn Sphere B5 comes with an enhanced 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls.
