We barely stepped into 2015 and the first important announcements of the year are already under way. For example, the dual LTE Xiaomi Redmi 1S is reportedly going to be launched on January 4, so in a few hours we might see the handset go official.
And if you’re curious and can’t wait to see the device in real-life, we’re happy to report the first leaked images detailing the device have already appeared online.
Say hi to the dual LTE Xiaomi Redmi 1S
The Xiaomi Redmi will boast Dual LTE, so it will be able to connect to 4G LTE networks coming from China Unicom and China Telecom plus China Mobile.
The upcoming handset’s dimensions are 134 x 67.21 x 9.2 mm / 5.2 x 2.64 x 0.36 inches) and for comparison’s sake take a look at the ones of the original Xiaomi Redmi 1S (132 x 69 x 9.9 mm / 5.1 x 2.71 x 0.38 inches).
The new handset will break the scale at 132 g / 0.29 inches while the older model was a little more bulky coming in at 158 g / 0.34 inches.
The Dual LTE Xiaomi Redmi 1S should be making it out on the market with a 4.7-inch display with 1280 x 720 resolution. The powerhouse of device will be a 64-bit 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 CPU fitted with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.
Users will probably feel this is not enough, but luckily there’s a microSD card onboard for memory expansion.
On the back lives an 8MP main snapper while on the back lies a 2MP camera for selfie-talking activities. The handset is maintained alive by a 2200mAh battery and dons Android 4.4 out of the box. Naturally there’s Xiaomi’s own MIUI interface plastered on top.
The 4G capable phone will apparently be offered in a multitude of colors including black, white, red, orange, yellow, green, purple and blue.
In a few hours, the new Redmi 1S will go official and if we’re lucky, the Mi5 flagship will be unveiled too.
