ViewSonic went official a few days ago with its first Android-based tablet PC, the ViewPad 7, and now another similar device from the company made it into the wild.

While the first slate came with a 7-inch display on board, the new device should boast a 10-inch touchscreen, and it reportedly packs an Atom N455 processor inside.

For the time being, it seems that its maker still hasn't decided on which name it would give to the device, but it unveiled some of the specs it would boast when released into the wild, a recent article on Engadget notes.

First of all, we should note that the dual-boot option is there, though it might not seem as appealing as one might have expected.

One can choose to use either Windows 7 or Android on the new device, but it seems that only the Android 1.6 operating system version is compatible with the slate, as this is the only OS version that comes with support for x86 processors.

The specifications list of this slate also includes 1GB of RAM, complemented by 16GB SSD, and a 10-inch 1024 x 600 LCD with capacitive touch capabilities.

All in all, it seems that the specifications of this device are not as impressive either, especially since its display boasts the same resolution as Galaxy Tab does.

According to Engadget, the tablet PC is expected to land on the market later during the ongoing year with a price tag of under “500 Euros” attached to it.

The new ViewSonic slate is expected to be released under the name of ViewPad 100 or ViewPad 10i, though it still remains to be seen what would the company decide on the matter.

Until more info on the new device becomes available, you can have a look at the photos and video available with it, or head here for more of them.
