It is a pretty modest dual-band Wi-Fi device, as far as these things go

TP-Link has released a dual-band Wi-Fi router that could tentatively be classified as mediocre, insofar as dual-band routers can even qualify as such.

The issue is dubious because, generally speaking, it is enough for a consumer to have 300 Mbps, which can easily be provided by a single-band 2.4 GHz router.

And yet there are dual-band models that reach 1900 Mbps, and some that go even beyond 2 Gbps.

By that reckoning, the TP-LINK Archer C20i - AC750 Simultaneous Dual-Band Broadband Wireless AC Router is really slow, about a third of the potential maximum.

Whatever you think of it, here are the essential specifications: 433 Mbps over the 5 GHz band, 300 Mbps over the 2.4 GHz frequency, advanced encryption (WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK) and a USB port, which is rare among “entry-level” AC Wi-Fi routers.

Other assets you might want to know about include parental control, guest network access, SPI and NAT firewall protection, and IP-based bandwidth control.

All in all, the TP-LINK Archer C20i - AC750 Simultaneous Dual-Band Broadband Wireless AC Router is not quite as fast as you'd expect from the 802.11ac standard, but the (omnidirectional) range should be a nice deal greater than 10 meters / 30 feet, even though walls. All for the price of $59.99 CAD / $55 / €45.43.
