Atlus U.S.A. have recently announced a game blending turn-based strategy and RPG warfare elements, for the Nintendo DS. Drone Tactics is set for a March 25th release in 2008, and will have players commanding a brigade of colossal mecha insecta, coordinating forces as they take on the ruthless army of the Black Swarm!

Drone Tactics, although launching for Nintendo's handhled, apparently doesn't feature specific DS gameplay, such as touchscreen abilities controls. Anyway, that doesn't mean it makes no use of the handheld's touchscreen capabilities, so let's see about the game's plot shall we:

Transported to an alien world, you find yourself in the middle of a great conflict. An army of evil Drones is on the march, threatening to obliterate the land of Cimexus. Its inhabitants now turn to you to lead them in battle against the Black Swarm. Each level offers new challenges, and taking full advantage of each Drone's unique specialties will be the difference between success and defeat!

Here's what Drone Tactics "mainly" brings on March 25th, 2008, when it launches for the Nintendo DS:

Build and command your own Drone army - Wreak mechanical havoc with your squad of insect mechs, choosing from over 100 weapons, upgrades, and power-ups to optimize your forces.

Conquer dozens of campaign operations and over 50 additional maps - Take on the forces of the Black Swarm then confront the challenges that wait in the mysterious Badlands.

Battle for domination in head-to-head combat - Friends become enemies in local wireless play.

What more could you want for a DS game? Your PC games and handheld gaming system combined it's what it is. As if the 100 weapons, upgrades, and power-ups weren't enough, game modes domination and head-to-head ensure countless hours of never-the-same gameplay.

Just in case you've already found the game attractive, here's the official website for more information. Those looking forward to purchase the game should wait before deciding as the ESRB still hasn't given it a proper rating.
