Despite the fact that “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” was harshly panned by critics, up to the point of being labeled an utter waste of time, its appeal with the audiences made it into a box-office hit. Therefore, it’s understandable why the people involved both in it and in its 2000 predecessor would think of a sequel, which, as Drew Barrymore reveals, is in the works as we speak.

Drew played Dylan in both “Charlie’s Angels” films, but she is also a producer. As such, she tells Marc Malkin from E! Online that a third installment will be made, bringing plenty of surprises to the fans. However, until she can speak of something more in detail, they – the fans – will just have to make do with knowing that a third flick is currently underway and that it promises to be bigger and better than either of the previous two.

“I’m so into it. I’m so into it – Charlie’s Angels III!” Barrymore told while speaking of her latest film “He’s Just Not That Into You,” and straying off the topic for a bit. As for the franchise itself, Drew knows that everything comes at a price in life. “They’re hard movies to make, but they’re fun.” she said, as Malkin underlines that the movies are not only “fun,” but also extremely lucrative, the pair grossing $544 million worldwide.

“It’s percolating up. It’s rising to the surface.” Nancy Juvonen, Barrymore's Flower Films producing partner, also chipped in. Moreover, the third film might also bring something new in terms of the number of Angels, just like the series it’s based on did in 1977, when Cheryl Ladd joined the cast as Kris Munroe, Jill’s sister. Barrymore basically told Malkin that a fourth Angel might be introduced, but nothing is definite just yet, since they’re still in the phase when they’re working with ideas to see which one would have the most appeal.

Also in this phase the crew is talking villains and, so far, it seems that the Angels will do battle against a male enemy once more. In “Full Throttle,” their rival was Madison Lee, a former Angel out on a vengeance, played by Demi Moore. Nevertheless, rest assured that you will get the scoop on all the details here, once they’re made public.
