As an increasing number of customers choose projector-based solutions for their home-theater systems, the offerings in this specific area have seriously diversified over the past year. And one of the latest such devices comes from the DreamVision company, who has just announced the launch of their DreamBee model, a device that, besides providing high-quality images, comes in quite an attractive external package.

The manufacturers have gone for a different design approach compared to the competition. Thus, the DreamBee comes in a variety of lively colors, thus giving it a much more "friendly" look than any of the other similar devices available on the market. However, looks are not of the essence in the case of the DreamBee, since its features make it quite a strong contender on this already very competitive market.

Thus, the device sports a 3-chip D-ILA system that provides three Full HD panels (1920x1080 pixels), one per color channel to obtain vivid colors without any rainbow effect. Moreover, it features a very high contrast ratio, 15,000:1, attained with the help of wire-grid technology, which also helps in reproducing without artifice the best possible colors.

The DreamBee projector sports a built-in video processor that is enhanced by Visual Excellence Processing (VXP by Gennum) and supports any standard from 480i to 1080p with full processing. Moreover, it is compatible with 480i/p, 576i/p, 720p/50/60, 1080i50/60, 1080p50/60/24 HDTV and NTSC, NTSC4.43, PAL, PAL-N, PAL-M, SECAM SDTV and comes with an average assortment of inputs, namely 2 x HDMI (rev 1.2 with HDCP), 1 x Composite Video RCA, 1 x Component 3 RCA, 1 x S-Video.

Moreover, the device has been specifically conceived to operate almost anywhere from the screen, as it incorporates 2x optical zoom, 1.4:1 to 2.8:1 throw ratio, +/-80% vertical screen offset and +/-34% horizontal screen offset.

As you might have expected this device doesn't come cheap as the standard version retails for around 14,000 US dollars, while the Pro version costs a whooping 19,000 which kind of sends it directly into the luxury items' area.
