Drake is either genuinely furious that his fans won’t get the Rolling Stone cover they were promised, or his ego has taken too big a hit when he lost it to the late actor Sir Philip Seymour Hoffman. What’s clear is that he’s not thinking straight, having taken his frustration to Twitter.

The latest issue of the publication was supposed to have Drake on the cover but, given the sudden death of the Oscar-winning actor, editors decided it would fare better if it featured a tribute to him, including the cover shot.

Drake is miffed both that he’s not on the cover anymore and that the interview he gave apparently included quotes that he had not signed off on. They referred to Kanye West so, judging by Drake’s tweets, they weren’t favorable.

“I never commented on Yeezus for my interview portion of Rolling Stone. They also took my cover from me last minute and ran the issue. I’m disgusted with that. RIP to Phillip Seymour Hoffman. All respect due. But the press is evil,” the rapper vented on the social networking website.

“I'm done doing interviews for magazines. I just want to give my music to the people. That's the only way my message gets across accurately,” Drake further announced.

As it happens, Drake deleted the controversial tweets the instant he realized so many people had taken notice of them. The Wrap can confirm that they were online at some point.

A rep for Rolling Stone tells TMZ that Drake got so mad because he only agreed to do the interview if he was promised the cover as well. When the mag ran the interview without the cover, he felt “cheated.” However, the rep stresses, he was told in due time that this would happen.

“A rep for RS says this happens all the time when musicians and actors die – most recently when Lou Reed and Whitney Houston passed away. Further, sources tell us Drake's camp was told last Friday he wouldn't be on the cover when the mag was released Wednesday. The RS rep would not say if they offered Drake a future cover,” the celebrity publication writes.
