Bandai Namco announced last year that developer Dimps planned to launch their Dragon Ball Xenoverse game in North America on February 13 and February 17 in Europe.

Well, it looks like the game has just been delayed and fans of the franchise will have to wait several more days to play the Dragon Ball Xenoverse because it’s now slated for a February 27 release in Europe and will arrive 3 days earlier in North America.

Publisher Bandai Namco announced over the weekend that Dragon Ball Xenoverse would launch in the Americas on February 24 on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Also, the company confirmed that the game would now be released globally on Steam on February 27.

The reason for this delay is not quite clear, but Bandai Namco said that, “in order to ensure the highest possible gameplay experience” for Dragon Ball fans, they needed to postpone the launch of the game for 10 days.

The publisher also took it on Twitter and replied to one fan who was curious about the reasons behind this delay and said that they wanted “to make sure it’s the best that it can be.”

Judging by these statements it’s likely that developer Dimps needed more time for polishing Dragon Ball Xenoverse. Hopefully, the new release date won’t be pushed back by another week or so.

On a side note, those who have yet to pre-order the game in the United States may want to take GameStop’s special bonus into consideration. The retailer offers all those who pre-order Dragon Ball Xenoverse an exclusive Collectible Metal Case.

The offer is only limited by the amount of Collectible Metal Case unit GameStop has in stock, so you might want to hurry and place your order as soon as possible.

PC gamers who pre-order the game via Steam will receive an exclusive playable character and two exclusive costumes for free.
