Publisher Electronic Arts has announced that it will be publishing an Ultimate Edition box of Dragon Age: Origins, the role playing game created by BioWare, containing the initial game in the series, the Awakening expansion pack and all the downloadable content packs that have been delivered to the title.

The bundle will cost 59.99 dollars on the Xbox 360 and on the PlayStation 3 and ten dollars less on the PC platform, meaning that gamers who pick it up will probably save about 50 dollars over the overall price of the content at current price.

Players will be able to pick up the new package on October 12.

The existence of the Dragon Age Ultimate Edition pack was rumored since the middle of August when the Australian Office of Film and Literature leaked information about the new bundle.

The package is a nice retail addition for those who have not yet picked up any of the Dragon Age titles but are interested in seeing the most traditional role playing game from BioWare in quite some time and the additional content that sketches out the game universe.

The best of the DLC is widely though to be Leliana's Song, the content which deals with the bard and how she came to leave her home and join the Chantry.

At the moment the team at BioWare is working on Dragon Age 2, which is set to arrive on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and the PC on March 8, 2011.

The new game will change some fundamental aspects of the series, stripping the player of his ability to chose a race and an unique origin for his character.

Dragon Age 2 will featured Hawke, a human champion (his gender can still be selected by the player), and will show how the went from a lowly survivor of the Blight to one of the most important character in the in game world.
