One of the biggest revelations about Dragon Age: Inquisition to come from the recent Gamescom 2014 event was that players would have to deal with a powerful enemy, called The Elder One, which is mysterious in nature but has a clear connection to the breach that is allowing for Fade demons to pass into the world of humans.

David Gaider, one of the leading writers working on the project, tells the official site that he uses the word relentless in order to show gamers the nature of the force they will have to face, while other two developers, Sylvia Feketekuty and Luke Kristjanson, are using the terms ambitious and arrogant.

The team at BioWare also says that the trailer for the game, which shows the Elder One in action, gives players a good idea of how powerful he is and how he can manipulate a number of allies to do his bidding.

David Gaider also believes that villains as a whole are more interesting in Dragon Age: Inquisition because they have the ability to break all the rules.

Sylvia Feketekuty adds, “They're the ones who bring the propulsive friction that catalyzes your story and stakes. But if your other characters aren't popping the same way, that's a good reason to step back and ask why not and if those character are working. In that sense, villains can be the ‘fun’ element by which other story elements are measured.”

For Luke Kristjanson the most interesting characters are villains during the middle of the game’s story and heroes towards the end.

BioWare says that all the characters that are included in Dragon Age: Inquisition have more depth than those seen in previous entries in the series, with more interaction with the player and interesting backstories to discover.

Players have the option of recruiting all of them in order to try and achieve his goals, but he can also banish them at will and can even choose to let them pursue their own lives.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is a complex role-playing game with party-based combat, and BioWare is giving players the option to choose between action-driven and tactical combat.

The game has been delayed to November 18, when it can be played on the Xbox One, the PC, the PlayStation 4, and last-gen devices.

Rumors are suggesting that a coming reveal for the game will show that co-op campaigns are being included.
