Gamers will have to carefully choose on which to spend both

The development team at BioWare might have delayed Dragon Age: Inquisition for more than one month, but the team is ready to compensate gamers by offering them more details about the core gameplay mechanics that the title will include.

The core resource that gamers will need to pay attention to is called power and it can be accrued by the player party as it explores the world and defeats enemies who are threatening their goals.

At the same time, players can set up operation bases in certain areas in order to gain power, and they can use this resource in their main stronghold, called Skyhold, in order to launch operations, which do not directly involve the player-created character but can deliver other advantages if they are completed.

Depending on their difficulty and where they take place, the gamers can send one of their advisers, Cullen, Leliana or Josephine, to deal with the issue, and the way they solve the challenge can have long-term impacts on both the characters and the story of Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Some operations are solved as soon as the gamer has the power to access them, while others, the most important ones, take time and might require that other events take place across the world of the game, according to NeoGAF.

Another important resource in the new Dragon Age is influence, which is linked to a number of perks that the entire player party can enjoy, in categories called Force, Secrets, Connections, and Inquisition.

The first three are linked to the previously mentioned advisers, and gamers can get advantages like increased potion carrying capacity, better experience from some events, or more merchant offers for rare items.

Based on the choices the player makes, the actual Skyhold changes around him to reflect his playstyle, and there are also options to customize elements like the windows, the banners, the throne and the heraldry.

BioWare also clarifies that the Dragon-focused battle sequences, one of which was shown during the recent combat trailer, are all scripted in order to give them a clear personality and all of them will ask players to first take out the limbs of the beast before they can try and deliver a killing blow.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will also include the option for players to not recruit most of the included characters and run with a barebones party. This is for those players who really enjoy challenges.

The role-playing title was supposed to launch in early October, but is now set to arrive on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and last-gen consoles on November 18.
