Gamers will have a lot of missions they can invest in

The developers at BioWare working on Dragon Age: Inquisition are saying that one of their aims with the narrative introduced in the role-playing game is to create a complex situation where the world remains in an unbalanced state even if the core threat is removed.

Mark Darrah, who is one of the leading developers at the studio, is quoted by NeoGAF as saying that “Big levels obviously can’t narrate themselves; that’s impossible. The scope of that is too big. They need to give the player opportunities to tell their own stories and ultimately that’s what comes from exploring this open-world gameplay.”

Basically, gamers will have to move around the world in order to expand the power of the Inquisition, the organization they are leading, and as they do so, they will see how the various areas are affected by the breach in the Veil which is allowing demons from the Fade to enter the mortal world.

Players will create their own story threads even as they follow the major quest line that asks them to find the cause of the disturbance and eliminate it in order to bring things back to normal and eliminate all the supernatural presences.

BioWare claims that it’s impossible to eliminate all the problems that are affecting the world of Dragon Age: Inquisition, but the player can use a playthrough in which to choose which ones are the most important to him.

Darrah adds, “you need to leave the world in a relatively unstable state but bring enough resolution so that the story has a satisfying conclusion.”

The studio has also listed some new locations that gamers can explore: Still Ruins, a crumbling temple occupied by cultists, Ferelden Bogs, a swap crawling with undead, Dale Highlands, which is hit by a blizzard, and Exalted Plains, filled with forts and grass.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is a classic party-based role-playing game that will allow gamers to create a powerful party and then deal with a number of both human and supernatural sets of enemies.

BioWare has said that the combat will mix the action-focused elements of the second title in the series and the tactical elements that fans of Origin loved, giving gamers options for every battle they engage in.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be offered on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft and last-gen consoles on November 18 of this year.
