We already know a lot about the world and the core characters of Dragon Age: Inquisition, and now BioWare is interested in offering gamers more details about the way the protagonist will be able to interact with them and how they will react to his decisions.

Before the game actually starts, the studio says that it will deliver the most detailed character creation system on the history of the franchise, with a focus on creating individuals that can reflect the real look of the players or the fantasy sources they are fans of.

Speaking to Raptr, the team explains that the level of detail included means that gamers can choose one color for the outer part of the iris and another for the inner part, and that scars and freckles can be used on every area of the face where they can realistically exist.

The Qunari characters, which are bound to be popular, will even have special options for horn customization, and the lips for all others are designed to be very expressive.

Once the player has settled on a design, they will be able to start the game and then interact with the extended cast that BioWare has been introducing over the past few weeks.

Cullen and Cassandra have been confirmed as romance options, and the studio has also suggested that some racial incompatibilities exist, which means that gamers will have to play Dragon Age: Inquisition more than once to explore all options.

All other characters can be hugged.

One romance option involves a character that has not yet been revealed and which apparently has not appeared in another title in the series.

The banter between the various party members is also improved and should deliver “Barney Stinson level of legendary,” according to BioWare.

At the same time, the studio explains that gamers will have to focus on actions rather than words in order to make sure that the characters actually want to work with them.

BioWare adds, “Major characters all track something similar to approval, but the system has changed to put more focus on what you are doing and what you say instead of grinding by constantly giving them gifts. Each follower does have their own set of goals they want to achieve and if you help them, they will appreciate it.”

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be out on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and current-gen consoles on October 7 of this year.
