Dragon Age: Inquisition has just gotten a new cinematic trailer from developer BioWare, showcasing the new hero that will restore order to the realm.

The sequel to Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2, Inquisition, aims to continue the saga and deliver a greatly enhanced experience, inspired by the team's unique vision and the feedback acquired from the franchise's many fans.

The cinematic seems to be created in-engine and foreshadows the events of the upcoming role-playing game, where you'll play the role of the leader of a mighty organization tasked with rooting out the evil from the land.

As opposed to previous installments, where you assembled a motley crew of rag-tag adventurers and rose to glory, Dragon Age: Inquisition will seat you in a place of power right from the get-go.

You will have to organize your troops and send them on missions, gradually expanding your reach and growing your power, preparing for the upcoming fight.

A natural evolution

BioWare attempted to deliver a more engaging and diversified combat experience, as instead of spamming abilities and having a dedicated member of your party in charge of topping up the others' red bars, you'll have to do things a little differently.

The lack of a dedicated healing class means that you'll be able to mix and match characters to your heart's content, but it doesn't imply that fighting the many foes you'll come against will be a breeze.

On the contrary, you'll have to manage your squad's abilities even better now, for in addition to healing potions, each class will also gain access to various damage mitigation abilities, shielding your allies from harm or blocking incoming blows.

This will form a more cohesive mix that will require thinking and will be skill-testing, instead of demanding mechanical dexterity and button mashing.

A bigger world to explore

The developer is using elements from both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 in the making of Dragon Age: Inquisition, and the upcoming role-playing game will feature much larger environments, with a lot more variety (a critical point, and one of the main complaints regarding DA2).

Players will be able to engage the game as a Qunari for the first time in the series, and all other previous races will also make a comeback.

The land of Thedas has come under fire, with dragons darkening the sky and casting a shadow of terror over the kingdom. The realm is in civil war, with the mages fighting against the oppressive Templars, and your role as leader of the Inquisition is to see the kingdom through this all.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is slated for release on November 18 in North America and November 21 in Europe, available for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
