BioWare has just revealed a brand new downloadable add-on for Dragon Age 2, its recent action role playing game, bringing a new character, a female Elvin Assassin called Tallis, modeled after actress Felicia Day, who is set to star in a special webseries based on the game.

Dragon Age 2 impressed quite a lot of people back in March when it was first released on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with its sharp mechanics and bold visual style, but failed to attract many fans of the original Dragon Age: Origins by simplifying the RPG mechanics and recycling a lot of the dungeon designs.

Things have gotten a bit better recently, as BioWare deployed the first proper downloadable add-on for Dragon Age 2, in the form of Legacy, which resolved some of the complaints from fans of the series.

Now, a new DLC will be launched next month, with BioWare bringing the Mark of the Assassin add-on to Dragon Age 2, focusing on a new character, the Elvin Assassin called Tallis, which is modeled after actress Felicia Day.

"We're excited to tell you guys about our newest DLC for Dragon Age 2 called "Mark of the Assassin." Hawke meets a mysterious female Elvin Assassin Tallis (played by Felicia Day) and joins her to steal an ancient relic from an Orlesian Baron in his well-guarded estate. This adventure features new items, enemies and environments," BioWare revealed about the add-on.

A trailer for the new DLC was also showcased on GameTrailers, depicting how Felicia Day's Tallis will look like in the add-on, as well as some of the new environments that will be traversed by the player alongside the actress.

It's a safe bet that after the launch of the DLC, we might finally see the Dragon Age: Redemption webseries released, after its initial announcement at the beginning of the year.

Until then, Dragon Age 2: Mark of the Assassin is out on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 11, for 800 BioWare points, $10 or 800 Microsoft Points, respectively.
