Foursquare has made available for download a new flavor of their mobile application for devices running under Google’s Android operating system.

The brand new application promises an enhanced user experience, providing people with the possibility to share location easier than before, and to find places faster. Foursquare already has a community of over 20 million people, spanning across a variety of platforms, including Android, BlackBerry and iOS.

The latest changes in the software were made available for Android and iOS users, which can now enjoy an application rebuilt from the ground up.

“Say hello to the all-new foursquare! We’ve re-imagined the entire app to make it even easier for you and your friends to share and catalog your experiences and find new places to go. It’s also really really pretty, with tons of fun surprises,” Foursquare notes.

Following the update, users will be able to easily save and share their experiences. The new friends tab has large, swipeable photos, which are complemented by tips, lists, and places.

The application also comes with a redesigned Explore, which recommends places nearby. One will be able to easily see where friends are, which restaurants are cheaper, and what other attractions can be found nearby.

Explore also offers the possibility to browse popular categories, or to find a specific thing. All results are personalized based on where the user or friends checked it. Planning a night out or a weekend can be done faster than before.

The check in button is listed on the top right side now, and the entire process is redesigned to be much faster than before.

Through the profile tab, users will be able to swipe through history, so as to find the menu at their favorite restaurant, to get directions to it or to another place, or look for something else.

“This isn’t just a fresh coat of paint, it’s a whole new app. And, as such, it’s just the beginning. We’ve got lots more coming in the weeks ahead, and expect even more this summer,” Foursquare notes.

The Android flavor of the mobile application can be downloaded from Softpedia as well, via this link.
