More developers can start building applications for the platform

Following the revamp of its Windows Azure website

, Microsoft has made available for download a new set of tools for developers interested in getting started with the building of applications for the platform.

The company made available for download an updated Windows Azure Training Kit, which packs comprehensive content for app builders to take advantage of.

By downloading the December update version of the Windows Azure Training Kit, developers will benefit from access to hands-on labs, presentations, and demos.

All these have been designed so as to provide them with a better understanding of what using Windows Azure is all about.

Available for download on all systems that run under Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2, the new Windows Azure Training Kit - December Update weighs in at 487MB.

Before hitting the download link, developers should know that the new training kit requires a series of other tools to be also present on the system, including the Windows Azure SDK 1.6, Windows Azure Tools for Microsoft Visual Studio 1.6, and more.
