Vuze, the hugely popular Mac OS X BitTorrent client, has recently been updated to version 4.2.0.2, adding a trio of user interface tweaks, as well as a couple of fixes. Vuze, formerly known as Azureus, brings the popular Java-based BitTorrent client to a new level of stability, usability, and speed, according to its maker.

As the release notes reveal, Vuze 4.2.0.2 mainly corrects bugs. UI fixes include: fixed wrap on category buttons; fixed rare case when last sash position in My Torrents wasn't being obeyed and  removed device toolbar when device feature not available. A core issue has also been addressed, according to the changelog – fixed hang on startup with some UPnP devices, as well as a matching error in Turkish – force decode of HTTP headers to lowercase using ISO8859-1 charset was used to fix this issue.

Vuze is similar to uTorrent, a popular BitTorrent client mostly used by PC owners. The app greatly extends the original Python client's feature set, and can manage multiple downloads at once, from a single window, or offer detailed, real-time download statistics with export to XML, advanced download and seeding management rules, configuration and torrent creation wizards, embedded tracker for easy and automated hosting of your own files, PeerGuardian IP address filtering and web browser, and console UIs.

The multi-platform client makes transferring files via the BitTorrent protocol a breeze. The developer has recently included a new split-window MyTorrents view with support for categories, and advanced downloading / seeding / queuing rules for powerful and automated torrent management, as well as a customizable user interface, seeding from read-only media, and significant reductions in resource usage. Vuze also supports a total of 27 available languages.
