14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 build 10130 for Windows Insiders on Friday, but the company made it available only for those enrolled in the fast ring, which means that stand-alone ISOs are not yet up for grabs if you want to perform a clean install.
Fortunately, unofficial ISOs were built with the ESD files that Microsoft released and they are now up for grabs from file-sharing websites. Keep in mind, however, that since these ISOs aren’t stored on Microsoft’s servers, they can be removed at any time, so the links below might stop working without warning.
Windows 10 build 10130 comes with plenty of improvements, but the biggest addition is definitely the new icon pack that finally addresses criticism after build 9926.
At that point, Microsoft introduced new icons across the entire operating system, but many criticized the new design, calling it childish, a joke, or simply inappropriate for a piece of software that’s supposed to be a game changer for both the company and its users.
With build 10130, Microsoft finally changes this and makes Windows 10 a little bit more modern and fresh, trying to tackle criticism and show users that their feedback is important.
New Start menu refinements
At the same time, the Start menu also received a number of improvements that make it a little bit more polished, including options to pin your favorite places and access them faster.
Jump lists on the taskbar also come with a new dark design, which brings them in line with the overall visual style of the operating system, so Windows 10 is slowly but surely becoming a product that’s reaching its maturity.
According to Microsoft, Windows 10 should see the light of day sometime this summer, but people close to the matter have already hinted that this is likely to happen in July or August if everything goes according to plan. Microsoft might be aiming at a July 29 or 30 release date, with sales to start in late August.
