14 DAY TRIAL // If you haven’t brought Christmas to your desktop already, it’s probably a good idea to do so, especially now that there are only a few days left until the celebration begins.
Undoubtedly, you have already decorated the house to catch a bit of the Christmas spirit that makes us a little more joyful during the holiday season, and you can easily do the same to your Windows 7 computer.
Downloading and installing a new theme to enjoy Christmas on your PC’s desktop is easy and should take only a few minutes to do.
In fact, there are two new themes that you can grab today for free to get into the mood, namely the Decorating the Trees and Decking the Halls themes.
Both will give you a little taste of what Christmas is all about, while also offering a great visual experience courtesy of high-resolution photos that will cycle on your desktop’s background.
“Bringing a note of holiday cheer to forest and garden, these festive ornaments brighten trees' winter robes of snow and ice. This Windows theme will offer all users the chance to decorate their desktop for the winter season,” Microsoft has to say on the Decorating the Trees theme.
Not only that, but the theme will also provide you with ideas for adding the final touches to your holiday preparations, provided that you feel there is something you might do better.
And there is also the Decking the Halls theme, with more colors to put on your desktop and more ideas to take into consideration when it comes to decorating your home.
“Thus, decorate your computer with gold ribbons, colorful ornaments, or candles to get you ready for the winter holidays,” Microsoft says.
Both of these themes have been made available for the Windows 7 platform, but they are compatible with Windows 8 machines as well. We have managed to install them on a Windows 8 Developer Preview computer, and you should be able to do it as well.
