Mozilla has announced that it has released an updated to both the Thunderbird 3.1 and the Thunderbird 3.0 line. The latest stability and bug-fixing releases, Thunderbird 3.1.4 and Thunderbird 3.0.8 are now available for download.

As usual, the updates don't bring any feature and just fix several issues users have been having. You should, however, update your email client even if you haven't been experiencing problems.

And if you're still using Thunderbird 3.0 or maybe even Thunderbird 2.0, now is as good a time as any to upgrade to Thunderbird 3.1.

"Thunderbird 3.1.4 and 3.0.8 are now available... As always, we recommend that users keep up to date with the latest stability and support versions of Thunderbird, and encourage all our users to upgrade to the very latest version," the announcement on the Mozilla Developer Center read.

"We strongly recommend that all Thunderbird users upgrade to these latest releases. If you already have Thunderbird, you will receive an automated update notification within 24 to 48 hours," it continued.

"You can also manually fetch this update by selecting 'Check for Updates…' from the Help menu. These releases fix stability problems affecting a limited number of users," the announcement said.

Thunderbird 3.0.8 fixes just one "blocker" issue, the most severe type, which resulted in a crash at startup. The issue affected 3.1 as well.

Another "blocker" issue which resulted in a crash in Thunderbird 3.1 has been fixed. A couple of critical issues in 3.1 have been fixed as well.
