System Center Capacity Planner 2007 is a solution offered by Microsoft for customers running its server products that require an insight on their infrastructure before and after integrating new software. The Redmond company indicated that the tool was capable of the process of streamlining pre-deployment capacity planning, as well as allowing for post-deployment analysis. In this regard, System Center Capacity Planner 2007 has been designed to play nice with Exchange Server 2007, Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, and Office SharePoint Server 2007.

“System Center Capacity Planner 2007 enables you to create a capacity model that simulates application and hardware infrastructure. This version of Capacity Planner includes models for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and Operations Manager 2007. Other application models may also be available in the future. You can then build and customize the capacity model to plan your deployment of the application,” Microsoft explained.

Along with the solution, Microsoft is offering consistent documentation including: System Center Capacity Planner 2007 User's Guide; System Center Capacity Planner 2007 Online Help; System Center Capacity Planner Help for Exchange Server 2007; System Center Capacity Planner 2007 Release Notes; System Center Capacity Planner Help for Operations Manager 2007; and Capacity Planner 2007 Operations Manager Model Release Notes. Essentially, with System Center Capacity Planner 2007 the software giant is offering IT professionals best-practice guidance and hardware-specific resources set up to simplify the deployments or changes to existing implementations of Microsoft server products.
