Blizzard Entertainment has released StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty version 1.4.0, a downloadable patch containing minor cosmetic alterations and a bunch of fixes.

Patch 1.4.0 may not be one of the most highly anticipated of updates, but it does deliver a considerable amount of general changes, such as a new Career page displaying placement in past seasons. This has been added to the League & Ladders section of the Profile.

To get to your ladder page, all you need to do now is hit the new "View Ladder" button that Blizzard devs added to the league display at the bottom of the Quick Match screen.

To see the post-game score for ranked ladder games, just look at the icons next to each player's name indicating his or her league.

Blizz also notes that they’ve significantly increased the upload timeout period for publishing custom maps, and that SLI performance has been improved.

Also altering the game on a general level, a prompt to run the Repair Tool will no longer occur when file corruption is detected in un-repairable files (replays, saved games, or downloaded maps).

As far as game options are concerned, players will see three new privacy settings to the Options menu under the Battle.net section.

You now get to allow friends to only send you invites, or chat messages, and you can set a status to Busy when playing a game, and the FPS Toggle hotkey has been added to the hotkey dialog.

Gamers looking to prevent tooltips from appearing when playing a game can now use the newly-added Display Game Tooltips setting to the Options under Gameplay.

Finally, a new setting that allows a player to enable or disable the ability to adjust in-game mouse sensitivity has been added to the Options under Controls.
