Skype, the popular video chatting and instant messaging service, has reached version 5.2.0.1572 on the Mac, bringing updated localizations, the removal of Professional Account, and other minor tweaks.

Skype fails to specify in the release notes for version 5.2.0.1572 which languages exactly have been updated so that the application works better for non-English speaking crowds.

The removal of Professional Account, however, is fully detailed.

According to the Belgian software company, Skype credit balance will be shown to users who are members of Skype Manager by removing "Professional Account."

“We recommend that everyone upgrades to the newly released build,” the company says, addressing avid Skype users.

“Please let us know what you think about Skype for Mac by visiting our Skype Support Network and leaving us your feedback, or in case you notice some glitches then please report it on our issue tracker, see Issue Reporting Guide on how to report issues,” Skype adds.

Thanks to a major new update issued earlier this month, Skype 5.2 for Mac OS X brings group screen sharing and improved multi-tasking.

“While screen sharing is already available for free on a one-to-one Skype call, group screen sharing makes communication and collaboration on group calls even richer by enabling people to view presentations, photos and documents on a participant's screen, perfect for presenting a document to colleagues knowing they can't skip slides in advance or for sharing holiday photos with friends and family,” said Skype’s Krishna Panicker in a July 5 post to their Mac blog.

With the new Skype 5.2 for Mac, if you're on a video call and wish to switch to another app, you can hang up, or mute from the call control bar, and still see the person you're talking to.
