Safari 6.0.3 is out for Mac users. Also available as part of the OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.3 Update, Safari 6.0.3 contains fixes that improve performance, stability, and security, according to Apple.

The new Safari is available solely to Mac users and improves scrolling on facebook.com, improves scrolling while zoomed in on a webpage, and enhances performance on webpages with plug-in content.

A fix for an issue that could cause the inaccurate appearance of an alert that bookmarks can't be changed has been resolved, alongside an error that could cause duplicate bookmarks to appear on an iOS device after editing bookmarks with Safari in OS X.

Some users also experienced an issue that permitted them to access unfiltered search results when searching from google.com when Parental Controls were enabled. Apple has addressed this bug as well.

Finally, Safari 6.0.3 corrects an issue that prevented the browser from restoring the last position on a webpage a user navigated back to.

Some security patches are also included. For example, multiple memory corruption issues exist in WebKit.

Also affecting the browser’s page rendering engine, a cross-site scripting issue existed in the handling of frame elements.

Another cross-site scripting issue existed in the handling of content pasted from a different origin. All these issues have been addressed in the new Safari 6.0.3 for Macs.

Apple credits numerous security researchers for discovering and reporting the latest vulnerabilities in Safari, including a handful of members from the Google Chrome Security team.

Safari 6.0.3 is aimed at Mountain Lion customers and requires at least OS X 10.8.2, according to the system requirements. However, the security advisory indicates that OS X 10.7 Lion customers are also targeted.

Users who download and install the official OS X 10.8.3 released by Apple this week will have Safari 6.0.3 installed by default.
