Opera Software has released a new version of its cross-platform, feature-packed web browser. The new Opera 10 Beta 2 for Mac OS X delivers few platform specific features on the Mac front, yet the release notes are lengthy, as always. As readers should know, Mac users can download both the latest stable and beta versions of Opera right here on Softpedia.

According to Opera Software, there are many improvements, fixes and tweaks to be had with the second beta of the version 10 software, spanning pretty much every area of the browser, from scripting to network, from security to miscellaneous additions and improvements. General changes include the following new additions, according to the makers of the web browser:

- New Speed Dial icon - Enabled an errorlog-upload dialog box - Opera Turbo warning icon - Warning and advice about why dictionaries.xml file sometimes is missing from Auto update - A "Synchronize Opera" button in the Speed Dial page - Tab icons (inverted) for panels viewed as tabs - An Open Folder menu item to the file browse control - Multiple-server support for Auto Update - A left-click context menu to the Opera Turbo button - New icons for DOM Console, Who is, Send File, Spell Check, Authormode, and Usermode - A context menu option to reload images in high quality - Widget version support - Password Manager with context-menu support

Solely for the Mac OS X version of Opera, the development team mentions more polished skin details, updated opera:about, opera:config and error pages, as well as tons of bug fixes, thanks to the faithful Opera fans who used the new Automated Crash Reporting tool. If that’s you, Opera Software sincerely says “thank you!”
