Apple has released the official WWDC 2011 application, a mobile guide to the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference. The app is free for all iDevice holders.

A universal application for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, the software lets you access a range of conference information.

Users can search the conference schedule, view floor diagrams of Moscone West, or create their custom schedule of the sessions, labs, and events they plan to see.

It’s also a great tool to make a reservation at the User Interface, App Review, iTunes Connect, Program Support, or Developer Publications lab, Apple says.

“Once you make a lab reservation, it will appear in the schedule section of the app when you filter your view by Favorites,” the company explains.

You can view the daily conference schedule including lunchtime and evening events, as well as filter search by technology, platform, sessions, or labs.

To make your own schedule, “Tap on the detail view of any session, lab, or event. Then tap ‘Add to Favorites’. Your selections will be added to the Favorites section of the app and can be updated on-the-go,” Apple’s instructions read.

To locate sessions and labs, the WWDC app puts detailed floor maps at the user’s disposal.

“You can also tap on a specific session or lab for the level and location where you need to go.”

A Conference News tab lets users stay updated with all the announcements during the week Apple’s WWDC 2011 is hosted.

Apple promises that the WWDC 2011 app will churn up news instantly, as soon as anything goes public.

Finally, the WWDC app is also the place to be for Conference Photos, Apple says.

“View photos of the WWDC experience. Images from the sessions, labs, and special events will be added daily.”

The software is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 4.2 or later.
