Valve has just rolled out a brand new patch for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, bringing forth a series of weapon tweaks, changes to the wallbanging system, not to mention the all-new Operation Breakout.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has been in for a major update for quite some time and Valve already mentioned last week that it was going to look into the current situation of pistols in the first-person shooter.

Now, the long-awaited update has just gone live and it's quite a major one, bringing changes across the board for pistols, not to mention plenty of tweaks to certain maps and other mechanics.

First up, the most important perk of the new CS:GO update is the new Operation Breakout, which adds a collection of six maps for all players to enjoy, as well as plenty of advantages for those who get the All Access Pass.

In terms of pure gameplay, all sorts of sweeping changes have been made. First up, the buy menu now shows new stats for different weapons, including the penetration rating, which ties into the overhauled wallbanging system. According to Valve, shooting through objects and walls will be more consistent across the board.

Lots of weapon changes have been made to some pistols and shotguns, starting with the already-infamous CZ75-Auto, which is now less accurate at mid-range when crouching or standing still. The Desert Eagle, however, is more accurate, while the Elites dual-wield pistols are less expensive. The Terrorist-only Tec-9 is more accurate in all possible situations (crouching, standing still, moving).

Other weapons have also been tweaked, including shotguns like the MAG7, Sawed Off, or XM1014. They all have more penetration power but their maximum range has been reduced.

The SSG 08 (aka the Scout) has seen its price reduced to 1700, while its accuracy range has been somewhat increased.

The maps in the game have also got some changes, starting with a new classification system that separates them into Active (Dust 2, Nuke, Cache, Inferno, Mirage, Cobblestone, Overpass), Reserve (Train, Aztec, Dust, Vertigo, Office, Italy, Assault, and Militia), and the Operation Breakout ones.

In terms of actual map content, tweaks have been made to Mirage, Nuke, Dust 2, or Militia, while Inferno has received quite a lot of tweaks.

All sorts of other gameplay changes are also included in the new patch and you can start downloading it right now via the Steam service. Bear in mind that it weighs in at around 500 to 600MB, depending on certain parameters.
