Riot Games has just rolled out League of Legends update 4.9 worldwide on the PC platform, bringing forth a suite of different changes to the game, starting with the Karthus visual upgrade and reaching balance tweaks for the latest champion, Braum, and Kha'Zix.

League of Legends is one of the most popular multiplayer online battle arena titles worldwide and tens of millions of players engage with it every month either by playing for free or by watching eSports tournaments.

Now, developer Riot Games has just rolled out a fresh patch for League of Legends designed to finally bring in the updated visual model for Karthus, which was detailed a few weeks ago, as well as to make serious changes to the latest champion Braum, and to others like Kha'Zix, Kassadin, Pantheon, or Rumble.

Kha'Zix was the toughest champion to balance this time around, as his identity meant that he was quite powerful in a lot of roles and couldn't be countered effectively, thereby messing up the flow of any match.

"Kha'Zix's big issue has always been his overloaded role identity as both a fighter and assassin. When a champion has the ability to start and end a team fight all on their own, that makes for pretty low teamplay and low counterplay," the studio said on its website.

The main abilities of Kha'Zix, Taste Their Fear and Void Spike have seen big modifications. Taste Their Fear damage has been lowered, while the Evolved Enlarged Claws upgrade is more powerful if a target is isolated, not if it has low health. Void Spike deals 20% bonus damage to monsters and the Evolved Spike Racks grant sight of an enemy champion's location for 2 seconds. The Evolved Active Camouflage ability no longer grants 50% damage reductions when going stealth.

Karthus has seen his upgraded visual model finally make it into the full game with the latest patch, and special team-color indicators have been added to his basic abilities, alongside special sound effects.

Braum's general damage has been lowered from 56 to 53, while his passive Concussive Blows no longer stuns players who have spell shields. The Winter's Bite ability has also seen its damage lowered by around 20 points, while the bonus armor and magic resistance of the Stand Behind Me ability has been lowered overall. As a bit of good news, a bug in which the Unbreakable skill didn't stop certain effects has been eliminated.
