Call of Duty: Ghosts has just received a brand new update for the PS3 and PS4 editions of the game, finally fixing quite a lot of various crashes and exploits, not to mention addressing some of the issues that appeared on the PS4 specifically.

Call of Duty: Ghosts was released last November, and developer Infinity Ward has worked hard to solve the many different bugs and exploits that appeared after players got their hands on the first-person shooter.

Since then, plenty of different updates have appeared, with a recent one making its debut for the PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One last month.

Now, the patch has just been rolled out on the PlayStation Network for the PS3 and PS4 platforms, bringing mostly the same amount of bug fixes or balance tweaks, such as for the MTAR-X weapon.

The new update finally enables the Chaos Mode for the Extinction cooperative experience, allowing players to work together and destroy even more waves of tougher enemies using their favorite classes, loadouts, and abilities.

The Extinction mode overall has seen some major improvements in terms of stability and performance, as well as fixes for bugs, like the one that made some challenges provide more than one skill point as a reward. Those who play in casual mode will no longer appear on leaderboards, and issues where players got stuck have been solved. Those who use the Tank class should also know that their armor is now completely invulnerable while their tank skill is active.

Various Extinction scenarios, like Nightfall or Mayday, have also received some love and care from Infinity Ward, as players who join late in the two levels will be automatically taken to the boss fights against the Breeder or Kraken if they were already triggered.

On Mayday, alien navigation and behavior has been improved, both on land as well as on walls or ceilings. Issues with tesla traps, drills, or with clipping through objects have also been remedied.

The Anti-Cheat system has been improved to eliminate exploits found on maps like Whiteout, Freight, or Warhawk, and various other specific enhancements have been made to the system overall in order to better detect cheaters and hackers that ruin the whole multiplayer experience.

Some fixes for certain PS4 issues, like when a second controller was unable to join a different Clan after accepting a clan invitation, have been solved, as was one problem that resulted in purchased items not unlocking in the game.

The new Call of Duty: Ghosts patch is available for download via the PlayStation Network.
