A brand new update for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has just been released by Valve, bringing forth quite a few gameplay changes, such as an increase in prize for the CZ75-Auto pistol, not to mention plenty of improvements to the Cobblestone and Dust 2 maps.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has grown in popularity by leaps and bounds in the last year, with hundreds of thousands of viewers at its last tournament, ESL One Cologne, not to mention a constant player count of over 100,000 on the PC platform, according to the latest stats from Valve's own Steam service.

The multiplayer first-person shooter is also retaining a lot of its players through lots of constant updates from Valve itself, which bring plenty of tweaks and changes to address issues and other problems raised by the community to the attention of the development team.

Now, a brand new patch has just gone live for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on the Steam platform, via Reddit, bringing forth a series of pretty game-changing tweaks to the whole experience.

First up, the highly popular CZ75-Auto pistol has seen its equipment slot moved over to that of the Tec9 and Five-Seven, instead of the old P250. Its price has also been raised to 500.

The CZ75 was introduced as an alternative to the P250 pistol, with players being able to choose what to equip in that slot between the two guns. The CZ75 quickly proved to be highly popular as it was quite deadly despite having only 24 bullets.

The gun remained a great choice even after an accuracy decrease and now it seems that Valve has decided to change its position in the item list. As such, Counter-Terrorists will have to choose between the Five-Seven and the CZ75, while Terrorists must decide whether to get the Tec9 or the CZ-75.

Besides this pretty major change, the update also allows grenade and flashbang damage to travel through water volumes, as they were previously unable to do anything against such a situation.

The item buy time in official competitive matches has been reduced to 20 seconds, while players who kill their teammates by accident in competitive matches will get a money penalty of just -300, instead of the previous -3300.

Two maps, in the form of Cobblestone and Dust 2, have received different tweaks in the update, with the most changes appearing in Cobblestone, after Valve got a chance to examine the professional matches that took place on the map during ESL One Cologne. Dust 2 saw its bombsite A plant area extended to include the outside of the boxes, while the collision issues with the door on bombsite B have been fixed.

The new patch is already available for download via Steam and weighs in at around 67MB.
