TrailRunner, the route-planning application for Mac OS X, has been updated to version 2.0 Build 380, adding almost a dozen bug fixes and one new addition. The software is free to download and use for Mac users running any version of OS X 10.5 Leopard.

The single addition brought by the developer this time around is an ascent column in the diary clipboard copy. As for the fixed bugs in TrailRunner 2.0 Build 380, Berbie lists those as follows:

- Fixed a problem where the map center after zoom was kind of displaced - Fixed a problem with a space-hand tool map displacement - Fixed a problem moving way-points - Fixed an infinite recursion problem with modify route - Fixed a selection enabling problem in the workout importer - Detouring a route killed its name and date – now fixed - Fixed a problem where the map tools did lose their correct cursor - Fixed a speed calculation problem for manually added workouts - Fixed a problem where copy/paste in text edit fields was not working anymore - Fixed a potential document corruption problem for routes imported from the openStreetmap routing

Berbie's route-planning app has the ability to geographically display a user's workout area. The app can calculate a route for the desired distance, and export directions onto the users' iPod. This way, they get detailed orientation, while keeping the workout going. In recent releases, the company has introduced the ability to display collected workout data within the program, matching the recordings with routes created by users. TrailRunner integrates with nikeplus.com, the online community for the Nike SportBand, and the Apple Nike+ iPod Sport Kit-running devices.

TrailRunner is still in the pre-release state. All current releases of TrailRunner will run for about three months. Berbie urges users to regularly update to the most current version, as well as review and accept the License Agreement that comes with the application, before using it. TrailRunner versions above 1.6 (including the one available for download today) require Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard to run. The only remaining version supported on Tiger is TrailRunner 1.6. Both supported versions are available using the download link below.
