14 DAY TRIAL // Just days after releasing the second patch for NeoOffice 3.0, NeoOffice.org has released Patch #10 for users of version 2.2.5 of the productivity suite. The maintenance update is recommended for all NeoOffice 2.2.5 users.
NeoOffice is based on the OpenOffice.org office suite, integrating native Mac features. The full-featured set of office applications includes word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, drawing and database programs. It boasts the ability to import, edit and exchange files with other office apps.
Most Microsoft Office 2007 Word, Excel and PowerPoint files are supported, as well as Excel VBA Macros. The software requires that you have at least 512 MB of memory and 400 MB of free disk space.
Upon releasing NeoOffice 2.2.5 Patch 3, the code-savvy folks behind the free office suite added the Mac OS X Services support, as well as the experimental support for Apple's upcoming Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. A changelog for Patch 10 is currently unavailable.
NeoOffice 3.0 users should know that Patch 2 (the latest for their respective version) addresses problems with the incorrect layout when pasting hidden rows or columns from NeoOffice Calc into Microsoft Word 2004, and several hang and crash problems. “Volunteers are continually testing NeoOffice and, as they find bugs, we fix them as fast as we can,” the folks at NeoOffice say. “Since a full NeoOffice release is a very large download, we post smaller 'patch' installers that only install the NeoOffice files that we have fixed since the last release.”
NeoOffice 2.2.5 Patch 10 requires a full installation of NeoOffice 2.2.5 and will not install on any previous version of NeoOffice. The patch includes all fixes and additions of previous patches.
