Juicy Bits has released a free update to 3D Camera for iPhone and iPod touch, adding support for the Retina display, an option for Dubois color anaglyph, camera flash support for iPhone 4, and more.

3D Camera makes it easy to create 3D photos on Apple iOS-based devices. To create a 3D image, left and right photos are captured using the built-in camera.

The final 3D photo can be saved to the iOS photo album, and immediately sent to friends via e-mail, Facebook, or Twitter.

Custom settings are available to control the size, quality, and method used to produce the final 3D image.

The "More" button provides access to a short, online video tour and additional documentation.

3D Camera 1.5 for iPhone, iPod touch features upgraded visuals to support iPhone 4 Retina display, a Dubois color anaglyph option (under Settings on the Home screen), camera flash support for iPhone 4, and a button for free 3D glasses information.

3D Camera Studio 1.1 for iPad adds MPO, JPS, and PNS import via e-mail attachment (user request), Dubois anaglyph blending method (user request), and additional performance improvements.

3D Camera feature highlights include:

- Three different camera alignment modes - Ability to send 3D photos to Facebook, Twitter, and e-mail - Magnification loupe for more accurate alignment - Automatic cropping of re-aligned images - Parallel and cross-eyed stereogram support for photos that don't require 3D glasses - Wigglegram mode for a fun, simulated 3D effect

3D Camera works with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 3.1 or later. The app weighs in at 2.1 MB and costs $1.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) for iPhone and iPod touch, and $3.99 for iPad (3D Camera Studio).

A Lite version of 3D Camera is also available for those who want to try before they buy.
